Take control of vehicle security with Carlock V2, the comprehensive vehicle locking and unlocking system that gives players full control over their cars. This advanced script goes beyond basic lock/unlock functionality by adding realistic features like key management, alarm systems, hotwiring mechanics, and lockpicking integration. Perfect for roleplay servers wanting authentic vehicle security, criminal gameplay involving car theft, and immersive mechanics where vehicle ownership actually matters. The second version brings major improvements including better optimization, expanded compatibility, and enhanced features based on community feedback.
Carlock V2 provides a complete vehicle security ecosystem for your server. Players receive physical key items when purchasing vehicles, which they must possess to unlock and start their cars. The system includes visual and audio feedback when locking/unlocking vehicles, with lights flashing and horns chirping just like real car security systems. Vehicle alarms can be triggered by unauthorized access attempts, alerting the owner and nearby players. The script integrates seamlessly with existing vehicle shops, garages, and police systems, ensuring stolen vehicle reports and impounds work correctly with the locking mechanics.
When players purchase a vehicle from a dealership or receive one through a garage system, they automatically receive a key item specific to that vehicle. To lock their car, they simply press the configured keybind while near the vehicle, triggering the familiar lights-and-horn animation. Locked vehicles cannot be entered by unauthorized players - attempting to open the door displays a Vehicle Locked notification. Criminal players can attempt to hotwire the vehicle by holding a button, starting a skill check minigame. Success allows them to start the engine, but the alarm triggers and notifies the owner. Mechanics can craft duplicate keys using specific items and a workbench, allowing vehicle owners to share access with friends or organizations.
Carlock V2 offers extensive customization through its config file. Server owners can adjust hotwiring difficulty, alarm duration, lockpicking success rates, and key duplication costs. The distance for remote locking can be configured, as well as whether alarms notify only the owner or all nearby players. Police override permissions can be restricted to specific job ranks, and mechanic key duplication can require specific items or crafting stations. The system supports configuring different lock types for different vehicle classes - supercars might have more difficult locks to pick than regular sedans.
This system creates dynamic criminal gameplay around vehicle theft. Car thieves need lockpicking tools and skills to break into vehicles, then must successfully complete hotwiring minigames under time pressure before police respond to the alarm. Organized crime groups can establish chop shop operations where stolen vehicles are processed, with Carlock V2 ensuring vehicles are actually secured rather than freely stolen. The key duplication mechanic creates an underground market where criminals can sell duplicated keys to high-end vehicles, enabling planned heists and targeted thefts rather than random car stealing.
Carlock V2 isn't just a simple lock/unlock script - it's a comprehensive vehicle security ecosystem that creates meaningful gameplay around car ownership. The physical key item requirement makes vehicles feel like valuable possessions rather than disposable transportation. The hotwiring and lockpicking mechanics give criminals realistic challenges rather than instant access to any parked car. The notification system when your vehicle is tampered with creates tension and urgency, potentially leading to police chases or confrontations between owners and thieves. Version 2 brings major performance optimizations ensuring the system works smoothly even on high-population servers with hundreds of vehicles.
